New (Belated) Poll of the Week!

The Labor Day poll ended with most of you saying that you labored in one way or another. I was thinking of other labor options and one lady who didn't have to labor at all for her newest 'bundles of joy' is this lady:

Yeah SJP up here had some surrogate random have her two twin babies. This got me to thinking about SATC and how these ladies were laboring on Labor Day because SATC2 just started filming in NYC. We've never had the token "Which SATC Character Are You?" poll, so here we go. I've decided that I'm a mixture of these two:

I think Miranda because I'm pretty cynical when it comes to pretty much everything, and I picked Samantha because of her wit and ability to have fun (not because of her sluttiness... but you can take it however you want). So which SATC character are you?

Finally, 5 Minutes to Blog!

Life has been crazy lately. My work week has shifted from Monday - Friday to Tuesday - Saturday. It is harder than you think to pretend that Sundays are Saturdays, but I am trying my hardest.

The only semi-entertaining photo that I've manage to snap lately is from the parking lot of Target:

Although it may be hard to tell from such a photo, that is INDEED blue glitter paint. Ah, Shreveport never seems to fail me as far as rendering me speechless.

Well, this weekend is the Britney concert. I have managed to swap shifts with a girl at work in order to guarantee that I am outta here in time to get showered and slip into my red spandex onesie for the concert. I cannot wait!!! Carie and Julie, you girls had better start rehearsing your Britney lyrics, because I am going to know them all! Woot!

In other news, I may or may not have shared this information, but I am going to be an uncle again since my brother and sis in law are having a baby boy. Cooper Keithy. What an angel. Okay... off to run more errands... AND to watch the Big Brother finale!

Flashback Tuesday

While I was trying to type Flashback Tuesday, I accidentally typed Flaskback Tuesday... which is probably a better idea that the former as far as this new job is going. I work probably around 14 hours a day and am so tired when I get home that if I did have a flask at work, it would be well used. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my job, but sometimes it's hard to stay enthusiastic and positive about working such long hours.

Anyway... so this weekend John and I had Sunday brunch at a local place right around the corner from his house called Columbia Cafe. I'm not sure what makes them so proud of their menu that they think that they should charge $8.99 for a chicken salad sandwich (for that record, why do people pay $10 for Fairfield's chicken salad sandwich, when the SHRIMP salad sandwich is only $7.99. These people are robbing us blind!!!!!! And the service is pretty crappy too!!!) Anyway, so John and I ate brunch at Columbia and on our way out we spied this:

View from Left Side:

View From Right Side

I was SO excited! I've never (okay maybe once) seen a scooter/motorcycle with a sidecar. And we get done with our overpriced food and there one is, practically calling us to take a photo of it. So there's your Flashback Tuesday blast from the past. Have a wonderful week!

Disappointment

I know you are all going to be shocked by this, but the newest show that I had been watching (in my spare time) was "Megan Wants A Millionaire". I am certain that the thought of watching this show yourselves is revolting since it is the most Keithville thing on television. Let me just say that you would be correct in your assumptions:

There is so much ridiculousness going on in this show that I can't help but watch. It is a train wreck of tackiness that I had to get on board for. The contestants claim to be millionaires and all of them basically say that they are on the lookout for a 'trophy wife' - enter Megan... who, to me, is absolutely NOT the definition of 'trophy wife', but since this IS VH1 that we are watching, (they who think that there is a need for shows such as "A Real Chance of Love 2" and "Rock of Love Bus", where Megan originally hailed from), I suppose that she will have to do.

So these contestants all basically try to out-spend each other via gifts for Megan. They had a pseudo-Valentine's Day a few episodes ago where one millionaire gave her a strip tease as a gift. Another wrote her a song called 'Sex Mode' (his credit was later declined). ?????? is really all that I know to say.

This contestant, named Ryan, flat out on the first episode told Megan that he basically needs to get married for a green card and that in exchange, he wouldn't make her sign a pre-nup... tempting, huh? Meet Ryan:

The downside to this story is that poor Ryan here is in custody for being accused of murdering his ex wife and mutilating her body. So... unfortunately for me, 'Megan' has been cancelled. To be fair and unfair all at the same time, Ryan did give off a creeper vibe with the whole green card request and whatnot. According to the press releases from VH1, Ryan ended up making it to the finals, but unfortunately, we may NEVER know who won Megan's heart. But I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be a 'Megan Wants A Millionaire 2.'

Surprises on Girl's Night

Last night I went to meet Carie, Melissa and Bevin for a nightcap at the Christian Union Building. Boy, was I in for a treat! I was chatting with Melissa about this lady who has a Massage Therapy and Pain Management Mobile Massage business and how one of her packages includes a 'Lypossage' which is a cellulite remover (or so she claims. If you want this lady's number, message me.) As I was imagining how awkward it would be for someone to rub my thighs and ass for an hour, this precious soul appeared on a stool next to me:

Ladies and gents, may I introduce Mrs. Diana Hunter (go read her blog here: http://dianaorienyc.blogspot.com/ ). I met Diana two years ago through our mutual friend Mrs. Carie Hart. Diana and I share a passion for two of the same things: wine and cheese. And by cheese, I mean all types of cheese (brie, gouda, blue, cheddar, feta, goat, swiss... I could go on forever.) So, as you can see, I was very excited to see her! What a surprise! Diana moved to New York with her new husband right after they got married, so I hadn't seen her since Carie's wedding (December 2007). (Now that I think about it, I might have seen her once since then, but I could be hungover.)

She shared stories about New York and how it's different from Louisiana and etc. etc. Most importantly she claims that she rode the same bus as Charlotte (Kristen Davis). What I want to know, is why the crap is Kristen Davis riding a city bus (reminding me of the episode where Carrie has to ride the bus when she's trying to save money to buy back her apartment from Aiden after they broke up. So she had to make 'lifestyle changes' in order to conserve money. At the bus stop she realizes that her SATC Column is being advertised on the side of the bus and a random lady asks her: "Why do you have to take the bus? You're on the bus!")? So yeah, I know we're in a recession, but seriously, why didn't she invest her money more wisely? Charlotte York McDougal Goldenblatt would never take a city bus. Perhaps Kristen is trying to separate herself from the 'Charlotte' image, but I can think of a lot better ways to do that... like coming out with a sex tape or become involved in a heroin drug ring.

Anyway, it is always so good to catch up with people... especially people who are real, honest, nice people. It is one of the things that I love the most. Just hearing all the great things that people are doing with their lives and how happy they are... it's just a favorite thing of mine.

(PS: Who else jumped up and down with excitement last night, when Jeff put up Natalie and Jessie? Because I sure did. I freaking love Jeff.)

New Poll of The Week!

Last week's poll of the week closed with a whopping six of you saying that you never read the Babysitter's Club series because you were outside playing with your friends. Sad Kate. Oh well, at least some of you voted otherwise. So Dawn Schafer (as predicted) came in 2nd place with 4 votes. Since six of you never read the series and the remaining 11 of you voted for Dawn, Claudia, Mary Anne and Stacey, surely the ones who voted remember the Babysitter's Club Movie, right? Well, this little lady played Dawn Schafer:

Who could forget Larissa Oleynik from 10 Things I Hate About You and Alex Mack? Whatever happened to that girl? I've heard many interesting stories lately from a current co-worker of mine and a former co-worker of hers from when they worked together on TTIHAY. She seems like she would be a really cool girl. I.E. Someone that I would hang with. Speaking of TTIHAY, when Googling an image of Larissa as Dawn, this image came up which is strange since I'm not sure that Julia Stiles would have ever had any connection with Dawn Schafer, unless she is one of the 4 that voted for her in my poll:

Small world, huh? Well since we were talking about TTIHAY (and not talking about how it was one of the first films to feature Heath Ledger in all of his hotness), let's have this week's poll discuss great movies of the 90's and which ones were our favorites! So, go vote and have a wonderful Thursday, friends!

Things That I'm Uncertain About (Part 2)

At some point during the beginning of this month, Fox debuted a new show called "More to Love". The show is basically a fat people (or heavy-set if the word fat is offensive to you) version of 'The Bachelor'. If you would prefer a visual aid, here is the promo poster:

Also, consider this:

I am not sure if this show can get any more ridiculous. First of all, EVERY SINGLE ONE of the ladies complains about how they never got asked out, went to Prom, had a boyfriend, etc. etc. because of their weight. During these diary interviews, it never fails that someone starts crying. I guess they never thought that the reason that they've never been on a date is because they are so neurotic and annoying, instead of being big. But literally for everything, they use their size as an excuse on why they missed out in life. Sounds like they are using this excuse as a 'crutch', (to put it in a metaphor for you) to not partake in things that they didn't want to do. Now don't get me wrong, there are actually a few of them who are cool (like Lauren from Georgia who makes fun of how lame all the girls are), but generally for the most part, Good Lord!

The bachelor guy, Luke, gives me a strange vibe. Like a creepy youth pastor vibe (no offense Jeff), but seriously, he speaks as though he has been thoroughly trained in public speaking, which is a good thing to be trained in, but it comes off to me as just skeevy. He claims to like 'voluptuous' women, but just the way he looks them over (as if he is undressing them with his eyes only to douse them in A1 and eat them like a porterhouse) makes me super queasy.

The women, however, seem to eat it up! One has even gone so far as to tell him that she is in love with him. AND she told him so after being on the show for THREE episodes. So, after the THIRD DATE, she professed her love for him, TO HIS FACE. Why did they not give these women dating manuals?

Also get this, instead of giving out roses, they give out 'promise' rings. How high school is that? Seriously, so cheese ball. Each girl who makes it to the next round, Luke presents with a diamond ring and asks 'Will you wear this ring?' TACKY! THEN, before the next elimination, they all have to return the rings to Luke while he deliberates. Then they all whine about how naked their fingers feel without the rings and how they really really want to get it back because they are so in love with him because he is the first and/or only guy who has ever made them feel special and loved, blah blah.

I'm not trying to overwhelmingly hate on the show, but seriously, did they have to make it so cheesy? I think it's great to showcase women who aren't Size 2, but if these are the only ones that they can find, thanks, but no thanks. I know so many Size 10+ women (including myself) who have dated before, gone to prom, had boyfriends, etc. So why is it that Fox only chose these emotionally unstable sob stories for their show?

First Day on Battle: Los Angeles

My first day at work has been pretty much a breeze (with the exception of having to use a power drill semi-successfully). I broke down some boxes, drug them to the dumpster, moved some tables and chairs, made some copies and enjoyed a free lunch. Well, I say enjoyed mostly because it was free. The food wasn't so hot. I guess some people just aren't cut out for Indian food buffets. That's sort of a place that you probably shouldn't go while you are feeling out new co-workers. Praise God that it didn't react badly with my stomach/intestines because if it had, that could have been really uncomfortable. Also, I don't really prefer my chicken to be an orange color. Nor do I prefer to sweat curry.

Anyway, so we had to make a haul out to the Art Department at the Fair Grounds (why they are at the Fair Grounds, I have no earthly idea, but it's nice to get some culture in your life now and again, don't you think?). On the way back from that adventure, we passed by this:

Gotta love Southern Maid Do-Nuts in ghetto territory. Nothing beats new management like old management.

On a side note, I'm pumped that my new co-worker Jessica also has a passion for Big Brother just as I do. This way there is always something to discuss other than the copy machine. Word!

Isn't John a Doll? (WARNING! Romance Involved)

A few nights ago, I left Mark's house after watching Big Brother (I am SO GLAD that Jeff won the Coup d'Etat!!!) and found this on my car windshield:

Look at John being a phantom in the night! After I got on to him for not being romantic, he has been leaving roses and/or oil paintings on notebook paper of roses on my car with the reasons that he loves me. Feel free to gag now if you hate reading about romantic/perfect relationships, because when I read about other people bragging about how perfect they think their boyfriend/girlfriend is, I think to self 'How lame! Do these people have nothing better to say?' This is me eating my words (just a little).

We definitely don't have a perfect relationship. Not trying to trash him or anything, but it's true. Sometimes we go days without speaking to each other. We frequently fight with each other like brother and sister, but at the end of the day, we have a deep respect for each other. I just thought I'd give him a pat on the back for being such a dove.

I Can't Say I'm Surprised

If any of you are shocked by this, you shouldn't be:

For the whole scoop, go to Crazy Days and Nights. The only thing that I'm actually surprised by is that Ed didn't turn out to be gay. Seriously, those green shorts and tank tops were a little over the top, don't you think?

New Poll of the Week!

Last week's poll closed with 9 of you saying that you keep cool in the summer by Never Leaving Pool.

Good choice, although I was disappointed to hear how few of you don't wear clothes. Next time, I suppose.

Well this week, the poll is going to discuss the current trends that are taking over our nation. Which one of these is the most annoying trend that you absolutely cannot stand?

A. The success of artists like Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers (who, Thank the Lord are finally starting to dwindle with their fame):

B. Fashion trends such as Ed Hardy and Affliction:

C. Mommy Blogs (self explanatory. No one cares about your child's first poo):

D. Stick Portrait Window Clings (I feel as though I've already been over this one):

E. Mounting your television over your mantle (TACKY. Your living room says a lot about you and I feel that your focal point should never be a 52 inch flatscreen. Save it for your man room.):

F. Twitter (although I have one and was recently attacked for saying that I don't think breastfeeding in public is appropriate. That is why they make breast pumps and bottles. No one wants to see your areolas while they are eating a pepperoni pizza.):

Vote, will you, and have a wonderful Thursday!!!

Reasons That Z Gallerie is the Slutty Sister of Pottery Barn

Tuesday evening, Mark and I decided to have a get together to watch the best show on television (Big Brother 11). I got there pretty early so that we could order pizza and talk about people that we don't like with plenty of time to spare before the show came on. I am one who has to have absolutely NO interruptions so that I can catch every rude comment and fight with no background noise.

When I arrived, we immediately went to the kitchen to fix a beverage. I decide on what I want and Mark says 'WAIT!!!!!!! PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!' before I took a sip. I stopped because I was very nervous as to if there was a bug on my face or about to dive into my glass. But then he reaches in the freezer and fumbles with something before placing this atop my glass:

It is a miniature Titanic-shaped ice cube, with matching iceberg. HAHAHAHA. I laughed so hard!!! So, I took a better photo of the ship:

So finally after I was done gawking at the ship, I did something really tacky and sank it:

My sincerest apologies go out to Rose and Jack, that they had to relive that all over again, but I was thirsty. I asked Mark where he purchased the Titanic and Iceberg ice trays and he told me Z Gallerie. Then he said that they regard themselves the "Slutty Sister to Pottery Barn" and I completely agree. I prefer Z Gallerie's products because they are extremely interesting to me, whereas Pottery Barn is very cookie cutter and straight laced (FYI I am not hating on PB). I wonder what that says about me. (Go ahead and add your slutty comments. I won't be mad.)

I almost forgot to include another of Mark's awesome products!!! He has these coasters that when you set your glass atop them, they light up and then change colors until your glass is empty.
I think this is a GREAT idea for a gift, especially if you are having people over. You immediately know when their drink is empty because the coasters go back to basic white and no fun lights. I forgot to ask him where he got these, but if you really want to know, I can find out for you.

People That I'll (Probably) Never Get Over (Wine Night Edition)

Consider this your Flashback Tuesday on Thursday after Braden was evicted from the BB11 house. UGH!!! This is the only thing that has managed to cheer me up.

Exhibit A and only:

God Bless America. And the 90's.

El Chico and More

So this weekend we had John's Birthday Extravaganza Part Deux beginning with a dinner at his favorite Mexican restaurant in Shreveport: El Chico. There was an amazing turnout of friends that showed up... about twenty... and it ended up being a good time.

When we left The Boy, (after John decided to take his sombrero with him) we headed over to sing some karaoke. On the way over, these two got engaged!!!! Congratulations Joey and Megan Hynes!!! So exciting!

After John and Rex finished singing "The American Trilogy" Mrs. Scoggin showed up.

Shortly after we visited with Jamie, we headed home, but not before snapping a photo with the Sensational Six (Carie and Trav were missing from the Elite 8, so we had to do with the six).

Saturday, John took me to the amazing Don Juanz, famous for their Fresh Mex menu. The fish tacos sound disgusting but are anything but that. If you live in the Shreveport/Bossier Metroplex and haven't tried Don Juanz, I suggest you do. You will never look at Mexican food the same. http://www.donjuanz.com/

Saturday evening, John wanted to watch the UFC fight. So he and his coaching buddies got together to watch it, while their pregnant wives and myself (neither preg or a wife) sat downstairs and visited. Well, let me just say that I heard enough in a few hours about pushing a baby out of a V, episiotomies, enemas, lamaze class, baby bedding, breast pumping, nipple cream, pediatricians, gas, cravings, morning sickness, strollers, cribs, due dates, NICU's, hospitals, changing rooms, baby monitors, registering, and rice cereal to do me for my entire life. No thank you, babies.

So that's the weekend recap. (Oh! And we saw Bruno. Not as funny as Borat. So, don't waste your time or money.) Big Brother last night was eh. I'm ready for it to get ugly!

Mistakes (Part 2)

I warn you, readers, that never, under any circumstances, never, should you watch this show on Discovery Health:

I don't know why, but at some point last night between watching a Chelsea re-run (I guess she doesn't have new shows on Wednesdays) and the local news featuring Jim Belushi, I somehow and for whatever God-forsaken reason, turned the channel to Discovery Health. "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" was on and I figured, how could these IDIOTS not know that they were pregnant, I mean really.

Well, apparently, you can go full term and right on into labor without missing your 'Devil's Way Of Saying Hello', have no cravings, develop no bump, etc. etc. All of these women's only sign was fatigue. One had lower back pain. One thought she had OVARIAN CANCER (she was 57 and was tampering with in vitro, so she should have known she'd get pregnant, the idiot)!

Nothing sounds scarier to me than going along with your day and your water breaking, followed by crouching on your bedroom floor while your 9 year old cuts the umbilical cord. Seriously, people, do yourself a favor and DON'T WATCH! Unless, you really want a baby of your own and these would be success stories in your eyes.

I guess if you MUST watch, don't watch the show that immediately follows "Obese and Pregnant" (what is it? Baby week or something?), unless you want a really nice self esteem boost... then by all means, go ahead.

Flashback Tuesday

Once upon a time (about 3 years ago, maybe less) I constantly hung out with some friends of mine at a little house at 174 Bruce Avenue. There were three and a half very interesting characters who lived in this house and one day, whilst I was bored at work, I decided to summarize their lives in the form of a drawing.

So, in honor of 174 Bruce being put up for sale, I would like to present to you this drawing. If you can't read the text, you probably wouldn't get the jokes anyway. Happy Tuesday!

Things That Happen When Kate-Naps Are Interrupted

Lately I have had NO energy. Seriously, none. This may stem back to Friday (unexpected day off when Nancy and I went to meet a friend for a margarita at 430PM at the Oyster Bar and didn't return home until 3AM.

All in one night I managed to run into a girl I taught at Disciple Now 3 years ago, a guy that I had a cyber screaming match with 4 years ago, and a girl that I roomed with in France 5 years ago. Not to mention, I had greasy hair, was wearing a tshirt and had no makeup on. AND it was 102 degrees outside so I was all sweaty and shiny. Ugh. Somehow we managed to go from Oyster Bar to Fat Boys to Fat Cats to El Dorado (where I ran into Losing Anna and the entire city of Shreveport) to Fatty Arbuckles to Stray Cat to home. By the way, there are way too many Cats and Fats in this town. Yeah, so it was an intense pub crawl.)

Anyway, I've been sleeping a lot lately. Like I was saying, it may stem back to bad decisions, or possibly a thyroid issue. I'm still paying off a dermatology visit so I have to pay that off before I have other things checked out (paying for my own insurance is costly). So, Sunday night I went to bed at 7 and last night I decided upon a Kate-Nap around 6. People kept texting me, so I ended up having a break from sleeping at 930ish where I got up and went downstairs to watch The Bachelorette (Jillian is a moron) and Chelsea.

I was all nestled on the couch when around midnight my doorbell rang. I froze and my heart started pounding very intensely. Seriously, there was no way in hell that I was going to answer that doorbell. I thought, if this was someone that I know, they would have sent me a text or called to tell me they are coming over. So it was most likely a child pranking me, or a rapist/murderer. (John warns me to never answer the door, even during the daytime. Goes along with the whole don't talk to strangers deal.)

So what do I do? I mute the TV, slide off the couch and army crawl to the bathroom where I hoped to go unnoticed. I stayed there until I decided that it was safe to come out, turn off the TV and lamp (very slowly and quietly) and tip-toe upstairs back to bed under the covers. I texted John and he was all like "Don't answer the door. If it happens again, I'll send a car out (which really made me giggle on the inside. FYI his father is retired Shreveport Police.)" So, I laid there until I fell asleep again.

Well, this morning, I woke up and tip-toed downstairs (I guess in case the doorbell-ringer was still there waiting on me) and made my coffee and got ready to go to work. I opened the front door slowly and peek outside. Nothing on stoop. No extinguished flaming bag of crap, no DVD (someone left one once), and no dead people or blood. So I glance over at my car and there is this on my windshield:

I was thinking "What the crap?!? I never get this stuff. Someone scared the hell out of me last night to leave a rose on my windshield? Was it John? A secret admirer (I have many)?" So I texted John and asked him if he happened to leave anything on my car and he said 'Maybe'.

OK. Mystery solved. Whew! Moral of the story is that I decided that I should toughen up slightly and that John is a sneaky (and sweet) guy.

Things That Are Awesome (Part 2)

For a few years now, I look forward to one show and one show only during the summer crap phase of television:

That's right readers!!!! Big Brother NEVER fails to bring some drama to my life. It's usually all that I can think about, talk about, dream about at night. I'd have to say that my favorite season of all time (I've only seen two seasons by the way) is definitely Season 8 (cast pictured above). I mean, if you were a watcher, who could forget these RIDICULOUS characters?:

Amber "Waaaahmber" Siyavus, most remembered as an emotional cocktail waitress and single mother. Amber would cry at ALL situations such as veto competitions, nomination ceremonies, and evictions, seemingly for no reason at all, even if she didn't like the contestant. She is most remembered for swearing on her daughter's life and making Anti-Semitic statements. She claimed that she could 'recognize a Jew by the size of their nose or their last name'.

Richard Louis "Evel Dick" Donato was very abusive to other house guests in terms of ridiculing their sexualities, religious beliefs and/or ethnicities. Although he was extremely crass, he was very popular with the public and went on to win Big Brother 8 and the prize of $500,000. Dick is an acquaintance with several celebrities, one being Cher who he claims to have had dinner with once. He is a devout atheist, although his mother is an ordained minister.

Jennifer Marie Johnson is a nanny, estate manager and a bikini model. During a live feed, she admitted to Kail (super annoying) that she worked for Vanna White. Jen was arguably the most arrogant member of Season 8, most memorably wearing T-shirts that said "I'm a Jensa Member", "Jenth Degree", "I am a Jenius", and also parading around in a red unitard that was a gag prize. However, Jen LOVED the red unitard. No really.

Jameka Linette Cameron is a school counselor who was seen for being deeply religious. She had an air-tight alliance with Waaahmber and once was caught on screen praying aloud saying "God you are a gangster God." She believed that God wanted her to play for the person's name that she drew in a Veto Competition, regardless of whose name she drew. Jameka chose to forfeit five HoH competitions and rejected a $10,000 personal offer when seeking the Veto for Eric in her alliance. What. An idiot.

So as you can see, I am pumped about Big Brother 11's premier on Thursday. Watching this show three times a week is going to be the best thing about my summer, I'm certain of it.

Things That I'm Not Over

There are two things that can make me tear up at the snap of a finger. #1 would be for me to think about anything happening to Sue and Keithy to where they were taken away from me, if it be by death, or ninja kidnappers (I doubt that they would be kidnapped because Keithy is very handy, with any type of tool or supply. He was an Eagle Scout growing up and a modern-day version of MacGyver.)

#2 involves the Johnny Cash song/music video for his cover of Trent Reznor's "Hurt." John makes fun of me big time because even at the mentioning of the song, I immediately become inconsolable. A few minutes ago, "Hurt" came on my Pandora and I became a blubbering idiot. I couldn't 'Next' or 'Thumbs Down' it because I'd reached my max in an hour.

When this song/video came out in 2003, it would frequently come on VH1 or MTV or whatever was cool to watch at the time in college. I was not a big Johnny Cash follower, but I knew the basics. Louisiana Hayride. Old school Country music singer. Married June Carter. Man in Black. Folsom Prison. That was about the extent of my knowledge (which was pretty good for someone who didn't care about country, really).

However, when the video came out, I was mesmerized. I couldn't stop watching it. Everytime it came on, I would stop what I was doing and sit and basically weep. It is so moving. Most music videos are about glamour, bright lights, eye catching photography, sex, drugs, fame and fortune. This video is about the complete opposite: Reality.

It shows a weathered Johnny behind a piano and playing a guitar while looking back upon key moments in his life. The video also includes June Carter with Johnny, taking walks with their family and visiting the House of Cash Museum, which has been the victim of a flood and is now pretty much decaying. The images of June and Johnny are enough in themselves to break my heart:

Sure, we've all seen 'Walk the Line.' We all know that they had a rocky relationship. But who doesn't? Just listening to the lyrics of so many of his songs shows how obviously in love with June he was. I hope that my relationship turns out just like theirs (minus the drugs and stuff). June Carter Cash passed away with Johnny at her side on May 15, 2003. He passed away three months later.

Here is the video if you feel like squawling your eyes out, watch it:

My Secret Guilty Pleasure

I fear that this post may be cause for some of my friends to delete me from their lives, and I'm semi-embarrassed to admit this, but I LOVE this show:

Paris Hilton's My New BFF Season 2. This show is so ridiculous and so dumb that for whatever reason, I am mesmerized by it. On last night's episode, Queen Paris (who for whatever reason is constantly wearing a bejewelled headband and thinks it is cute to talk/squeak like a twelve year old) introduced the wannabe BFF's to her friend Mark. Mark is engaged and getting married in three weeks. So basically she had the BFF's take him out for his bachelor party as this week's challenge. They get there and these girls/boy get wasted!! One girl (Monica) gives Mark a lap dance where you could see her vagina as well as her entire breasts (it wasn't a pretty sight, as she is not a Size 2 like Paris is. Not that that would be a pretty sight anyway), and then another girl (Arika) makes out with Mark, all while Paris is watching nearby.

The morning following the party, Paris arrives in her pink Bentley and has all of the girls come outside for a meeting. Except for Arika (Paris had Onch keep her inside and told her that she had a surprise for her. By the way, this is Onch:

Onch is the most ridiculous character I have EVER seen on television. He/She was a former contestant of Paris' first season of the BFF show and ended up losing. However, he is such a character that she brought him with her as her 'Pet' to this season. Onch is a man who thinks he is a woman. He dresses and talks like a 15 year old school girl. So, I guess you could say that he is transgender. One more photo of Onch just for fun: And yes those are Mickey Mouse-Hair ears)

So anyway, Onch finally brought Arika outside to her 'surprise' which included Arika doing the walk of shame and apologizing to Mark for making out with him and behaving like a backstabbing slut. THEN, Paris brought out Mark's fiance and had Arika apologize to her, just before dismissing her from the show.

I was so embarrassed for her!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, that has to be the worst, right? Then Paris kicked Monica (Vagina-Flasher) off the show for being so slutty in public saying that Paris had a mental image of her vagina etched into her brain. I was sort of proud of Paris for doing that. Maybe she does have some values? Eh, probably not.

When Paris dismisses a contestant from her show, she even manages to add insult to injury by telling them: T.T.Y.N. (Talk To You Never.) I believe I have a new slogan to add to my abbreviated speak. I can't get enough!
